Pick a mode. Local play runs offline against Stockfish or another person at the same board. Online play opens a realtime RPC session with WebRTC video to a remote opponent.

Local board→ play
Hot-seat with another person at the same board, or vs the Stockfish engine. State stays in this tab.
Online play with video chat→ online
Create a game, share the join code, play in realtime with a video feed of your opponent. Requires apps/lila-server running on :3030 (Vite proxy hands off via /lila).
